Last week at Unreasonable Connection Live! at @BLUE GARAGE 💙 (Lewisham), we joined a room full of workspace people swapping what’s working (and what isn’t) when it comes to:

  • profitability + permanence (in a world that’s anything but predictable)
  • community building that actually drives retention
  • what the next workforce needs – and how spaces can support it

One theme that kept resurfacing: the strongest workspaces are the ones creating real pathways – through peer support, informal mentoring, and skill-sharing – helping members take the next step (including bridging the gap between employment and self-employment).

And the venue really embodied that. Blue Garage is a phenomenal space. I’ve been to other makerspaces, but this is a whole other level. The ability to manage end-to-end prototyping, production, and delivery is so well thought out that it genuinely feels built for people developing forward-thinking, sustainable products and businesses.

Big thanks to @Bernie J Mitchell, @London Coworking Assembly, @Kofi Oppong, and @Urban MBA for bringing people together and keeping the conversation practical (and optimistic).

So great to catch up with industry friends and partners, as well as meeting new faces! @Teresa Jackson @Lucy McInally
