Managed IaaS / PaaS

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is one of the three fundamental service models of cloud computing alongside Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).

As with all cloud computing services it provides access to computing resource in a virtualised environment, “the Cloud”, across a public connection, usually the internet.

In the case of IaaS, computing resources are usually composed of virtualised hardware which is managed for you so that you can run your own “platform” on that infrastructure. IaaS includes storage, firewalls, network connections, bandwidth, IP addresses and load balancers. Physically, the pool of hardware resource is pulled from a multitude of servers and networks usually distributed across numerous data centers, all of which the cloud provider is responsible for maintaining.

PaaS builds on top of the IaaS offering by providing a ready-to-run system, including operating systems, databases, storage and various other infrastructure components that are ready to use, so that you can start running your workloads on them.

We offer a range of managed infrastructure services to our clients. Our engagement usually starts with an audit which enables us to understand existing infrastructure and processes, and start making recommendations.

We can help with the entire process, from identifying what sort of cloud computing most suits your requirements and indeed the entire process of migrating to the cloud and even running your cloud infrastructure on your behalf.
